Educate a child in an inclusive school by part sponsoring the staff salaries for one month, INR 500

The foundation of Vishwas Vidyalaya is embedded in the belief that every child has a right to meaningful and quality education in a positive learning environment. The organization’s aim is to work towards an equitable and inclusive school system. Within a short span Vishwas has designed and implemented a unique/innovative school system.

How It Works

• At Vishwas, they use the NCERT framework as a launch pad and draw from globally benchmarked standards.
• Students belong to age-appropriate classes and at the same time are able to learn concepts according to their readiness levels, learning at their own pace.
• Barriers that hinder participation and learning are identified and addressed through various strategies:
1. Built in flexibility within the system that enables social as well as learning needs of all students to be fulfilled.
2. This system releases students from boundaries set forth by syllabus at each grade level. They learn concepts at their own pace and readiness rather than being dictated by age and grade.
3. This system enables a student to attend subjects at different grade levels. For example, the student could attend Math at grade 3, Hindi at grade 4 and English at grade 1.
4. Students are assessed twice in a year and regrouped accordingly. This gives them the opportunity to join back into appropriate groups even after long periods of leave due to medical or familial circumstances.
5. The curriculum and workbooks are also inclusive.

• 3 – Duration of time in which some students have covered 4 grades

Every child has a right to meaningful and quality education
Manish(name changed), a seven year old boy got his first opportunity to attend a formal school Vishwas Vidyalaya one year ago. He enjoys attending school and enjoys studying and sports. His mother is a part time cook in 3 houses and the father works as a gardener. He has a 2 year old sister who is looked after by the neighbors when the mother goes to work. The parents are unable to pay the month fees but manage to pay a token monthly charge. There are some months where they are unable to pay the token charge also.
Manish (name changed) comes to school regularly and is doing extremely well academically. With the flexible model offered by Vishwas Vidyalaya, he has managed to complete one year syllabus in 8 months!
Vishwas bore the expenses from its own pool of resources and subsequently would raise funds to mete out the expenses for his tuition as the organization did not want limited financial resources to become a barrier to attend school and learn.
