" Overview

Gramin Vikas Trust (GVT) is a National Level Organization established by the Krishak Bharti Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) with the support of Government of India and Department for International Development (DFID), UK. GVT was started as a division of KRIBHCO to look after Eastern India Rainfed Projects (EIRFP) and Western India Rainfed Projects (WIRFP) in some states by forming several clusters in tribal areas for the upliftment of the tribals. However, with the passage of time, from 2010 onwards, GVT not only diversified its activities, but also its geographical presence. It started some new initiatives and activities in line with its mission and vision like undertaking skill development of rural youth in various trades, having good job opportunities in business houses, agri-business, market linkages to rural handicraft artisans etc.

• Each child has to satisfy a minimum number of conditions for need assessment of the same such as school uniform, school bag as well as educational material.
• School uniforms, school bags and stationery - all these materials are purchased directly by Gram Vikas Trust and distributed to the beneficiaries.
• These children are supported till they complete their education and GVT helps them to get skill-based training as well as job placements.

• 1 – Number of members from women’s SHG and a representative of GVT who is part of the village level committee
• 2 – Number of members from the community who are part of the village level committee

Education changed Life of Savita.
Savita is a 10-year-old girl. She lives in a small village Vagra in Bharuch district Gujarat. After the death of her father, when she was only 8 years old, she dropped out of school and joined her mother as a labourer in cotton fields to supplement the meager family income. Our field worker learned about her situation and met her mother to convince her to allow Savita to continue her education.
Savita was adopted under child education programme. We help her to get admission in Grade 3 in 2009-10.
Savita is currently studying in Grade 5. She is regularly going to school and she dreams of becoming a teacher
