Donate Learning Materials Kit for Special Children with delayed development, INR 6500

JK MAASS Foundation is a Social, Health, Development and Empowerment agency serving poor disabled persons for over a decade. The principal factor for establishing the JK MAASS FOUNDATION is the inadequacy of physical rehabilitation resources in the society for the upliftment of Persons With Disability (PWD), particularly the children affected by cerebral palsy and other delayed developments. A special school for the rehabilitation of children with delayed development is set up in a disabled-friendly environment.

How It Works

• The children are enrolled after assessment by a physiotherapist and a special educator.
• Based on their current physical condition and mental growth, the children are placed in pre-primary, primary or secondary classes.
• During admission, the economic status of the family is determined and recorded based on the parents’ occupation and annual income.
• These children need training for fine motor activities and eye-hand coordination.
• The teachers in the special schools train them with specially designed teaching/learning material.

Special children realizing the real world
The special children with delayed development in “Able Kids” cannot realize the world around them as the normal children do with less effort. They cannot recognize the real world things. Their eye to hand co-ordination is very poor. They are dependent on others for their daily living activities.
The special children are taught by the special educator with the teaching material to realize the real world things. They are given training to identify fruits, vegatables, animals, numbers, etc with the teaching materials. They are given training to improve their eye to hand co-ordination.
The special children are able to identify real world things after intervention. Their eye to hand co-ordination has improved. Their dependency on others has reduced. They have started to live a near normal life. The special children are very much exited in coming to special school with full uniform like their sibling going to normal schools.
