Action for Development of Demos (ADD) is an NGO based in Patna whose mission is to improve the economic condition of men, women and children living below the poverty line by creating greater awareness in the field of education and health.

The Basics

Through this programme, ADD aims at educating children between the ages of 6-14 coming from families below the poverty line.

How It Works

• ADD selects children between the ages of 6-14 and admit them into local schools. Most of these children are dropouts due to lack of funds while some have never been to school.
• ADD bears the entire tuition fee for these children.
• In addition, ADD has two tutors who provide additional coaching to these children in the ADD coaching centers after hours.
• Any donation given will help reimburse the educational and nutritional expenses of one child for a year.

Child education and health- a revolution
There is awareness for education in people as will appear incase of Arti Kumari from an extremely backward village of illiterates, situated in the Sampatchak block of Patna district. An unfortunate Arti Kumari, age 10 years was cursed; due to death of her father (Late Shailendra Prasad) at early stage in 2007 a road accident. Consequently the whole burden fell upon her widow mother (Manju Devi) and a minor brother. Mother was any how managing the house with a meager income she earned with the art of tailoring in village Manoharpur Kachhuara.
Fortunately ADD team could learn about her fate and advised her mother to get Arti kumari admitted in school for proper education and better future, to which her mother agreed.
Now Arti is regularly schooling in grade III and successfully getting education under ADD programme Educational and health care support for a poor and neglected child (06 - 14 years) programme. She is now grateful for the good work of donation by ADD.
