Bhumi runs an annual initiative called Joy to the World, to bring joy to the festivals of underprivileged children by fulfilling their small wishes.
The Basics
• Wish cards are filled out and taken from children, and then met through secret donations.
• The children are underprivileged and live in orphanages.
• Their most common wishes are for books, school bags, shoes, and games to play, either indoor or outdoor.
• Each child gets a minimum of Rs. 300 worth of gifts.
• The donation will be used to ensure gifts for 2 children.

Chandra lives in a Children Home and goes to a government school. Like many others, wearing a pair of white shoes to school or carrying her books in a school bag is luxurious to this child. With no one to ask, she had kept her wishes to herself.We distributed wish cards to the children of her Orphanage, Chandra asked for a School bag. The cards were distributed to donors willing to fulfill the wishes that bought the gift and sent it to Bhumi. Bhumi distributed the gift at the Children Home to Chandra and others.
Who is not happy to get gifts? Chandra was no exception. She now carries her books to school in a bag like everybody else

For Indian Tax Payers: u/s 80G of the IT Act up to 50% of your donation is deductible/u/s 35AC of the IT Act (only specified projects) 100% of your donation is deductible from your income/u/s 35(i)(ii) of the IT Act (only specified projects) 125% of your donation is deductible from your business income, and 100% of your donation is deductible from salary income.
For US Taxpayers: US Tax Payers will receive a 501(c)(3) tax receipt for their donation. Please ensure that the tax receipt field in your profile is set to US Tax Payer. Otherwise, login and modify your profile accordingly.
For UK Taxpayers:If you are a UK taxpayer, for every pound that you donate, our UK arm - GIVE UK, can reclaim 28 pence from the IRS helping your donation go further. This is known as Gift Aid. To qualify for Gift Aid, the income tax or capital gains tax you pay must at least equal the amount we will claim in the tax year.
