Overview
The Native Medicare Charitable Trust began operations in 1988 to reach its vision and mission. It is a leader in fostering and supporting the development of community-driven approaches to HIV prevention, care and support, and impact mitigation.
How It Works
• Most of these women are single parents abandoned by their husbands or widowed.
• The beneficiaries are identified by the organisation’s field workers, counsellors, and sometimes through hospital referrals.
• Support is provided to the whole family for education, nutrition and emergency needs.
• Provisions are provided in kind.
• Nutrition is provided for each woman in the form of food products like Horlicks, dates, pulses, soya etc.
• That project has been completed now.
• One woman is supported once a year and is not immediately supported as there are many such women to be helped.
