Help a girl child with school supplies - Single donation, INR 100
 Mail

Gram Chetna Kendra (GCK) runs various programs in Rajasthan's rural belt. This belt is undeveloped with very low literacy rates (still lower in women). Girls tend to drop out of schools due to gender discrimination, poor economic condition of family and lack of awareness.

How It Works

• GCK provides assistance in the form of school supplies to poor female students, in order to check the number of dropouts and encourage education of the girl child.
• The beneficiaries are chosen based on recommendations by village-level organizations.
• The final selection happens after physical verification.
• Benefits can be given at any point of time in a year and all items are given at once.

The Statistics

• The NGO is proposing to support 100 girls from impoverished backgrounds in the year 2015-16.

Supporting girl child education and hygiene
Mamta Yadav D/o Shri Gopal Lal Yadav, is a resident of village Aamwal Dhani. Her father is a labourer and does not have money to educate his children. There are 6 members in the family.Mamta was considered to be burden to the family.
Gram Chetna Kendra took care of the child and provided her all the facilities for studies like uniform, pair of shoes ,school stationary, bag, exercise books, and solar lantern. We also gave her inputs on how to maintain good hygiene which will result in good health.
Mamta after getting all the facilities for her studies is now regular in her class and is very keen to learn every thing in time. She is very neat and clean. Her parents are also happy on seeing her good performance. She is attending school regularly.
