Educate a girl child for a month in our Sapna Sikshalaya, INR 1200
 Mail

SAPNA started a Pre-Primary School at Vijay Mandir on 8th July, 2015 by the name of ""SAPNA Shikshalaya"". The main aim of the school is to provide 'quality, flexible and relevant learning' and targets the underprivileged girls in rural areas at a nominal fee of Rs. 11 a day.

We mainly target poor and downtrodden girls between three to seven years who have never been to a school. The main objective behind this program is to enable equal opportunity for access to quality education. The beneficiaries are identified through a clearly-stated selection process at the beginning of the academic year. The economic condition of the family is one of the parameters for selection. We also conduct economic & land survey of parents. The annual income of parents should not be more than 1.20 lakhs. The girls age should be 3 to 3.5 for enrollment in nursery, 3.5 to 4.5 for prep 1 and 4.5 to 7 for prep 2.

At present 46 girls (19 in Nursery, 15 in Prep-1, 11 in Prep -2) are studying in the school. There are three teachers under a Principal to take care of them. The school starts at 8.30 am. A well designed curriculum focussed on developing oral and written skills has been rolled out. We use teaching aids to help the children learn pre-writing and pre-reading concepts. A typical day would like this: The morning begins with a prayer followed by exercises. This is followed by a story session. After that there is 30 min games session. This is followed by Math, English and Hindi classes. The school ends at one pm with dancing and singing session. The school provides uniform, books, nutrition and stationary. Girls are provided healthy food in school to overcome nutritional deprivation that often exists due to poverty and gender biased at home We also provide transportation to ferry the children from their village. The school has a capacity to accommodate 80 girls. Girls are provided healthy food in school to overcome nutritional deprivation that often exists due to poverty and gender biased at home.

Changing Lives- Story of Baani
Nandini is 4 years old girl and studying in class Prep 1. Her father is a farmer. She joined SAPNA Shikshalaya in 2016 and got enrolled in nursey class. She is a special child usedting to sit at the back in the class. She was totally expression less. She did not like to interact with teachers and other girls in class.
The class teacher gave her space and personal attention. Appreciated her smile and little gestures. Gave chances on stage and made her stand in each activity. Now she started following instructions, raising hand for answer. Her uniform is best in the class. She has started doing written work also. She loves to play with dolls. . She loves to recite poem.
Parents are very happy to see the progress of girls. As per parents, now she is very active in house, she asks her parents to wash her uniform every day. She takes care of copies at home. Parents have also appreciated the effort of class teacher on result day.
