The Association of People with Disability s (APD) mobility aids program provides quality wheelchairs. APD provides imported wheelchairs branded as “World made” from a UK based company called ‘Motivation’, which has manufacturing units in China and Sri Lanka. These wheelchairs are comparatively light yet sturdy, usable on uneven roads and can be dismantled with low maintenance cost. Along with wheelchairs, APD gives training on usage and provides a free maintenance service. These wheelchairs are a crucial device that render mobility to a disabled person, which is an important stepping stone for them to pursue their careers and dreams. APD customizes the chair based on the person’s needs. They already have a list of needy beneficiaries that could avail of this donation. It will take them just a day to customize and deliver the chair to them.
