Sponsor spectacles for 10 poor people, INR 1300

Rural Health Care Foundation (RHCF) is an organization striving to address the gap in the availability of low cost primary health care in rural areas. Drawing inspiration from the Late Founder Arun Nevatia’s undying spirit to provide health care facilities to the lowest strata of the socio-economic pyramid, the goal of RHCF is to set up primary health care centres in the remotest areas of the country, providing OPD facilities as well as medication to the low income, hard to reach population in India.

How It Works

• In each of the centres, the Foundation has a vibrant eye department with the best instruments to facilitate the doctor in discharging his duty.
• After the preliminary eye checkup, the patients are given the prescriptions which includes information on the power of the lenses.
• All the different prescriptions are gathered and sent to the NGO’s Head Office in Kolkata, where the same is sent to the manufacturer of lenses for further processing.
• After scrutinizing each spectacle, they are packed and sent back to the respective centres for distribution to the correct patients.
• Spectacles are given to the patients free of cost. • Spectacles are given to the patients free of cost.

Nadira Bibi
Nadira Bibi a resident of Bamunpara, district Nadia a weaver by profession used to earn her daily living but due to fading eye sight could not continue to earn as because her work requires very fine stitching. Requiring a spectacle in the rural areas where we operate one has to travel to the nearest town, pay hefty fees for the doctor along with the cost of the spectacles to enable her either to see or read properly. One such spectacle will cost not less than 1000/-.
Now Nadira Bibi is busy with her job of weaving and earning her money again. The money saved by her was utilized for the education of her children.
After our operation started, Nadira Bibi came to our centre and got her eyes tested and the proper medicines prescribed by qualified doctors. Spectacle was given to her at no cost since she could not afford to pay and she was relieved of the trouble of going to town and paying hefty fee for the doctor.
