Sponsor 1 month vocational training for a destitute women/adolescent to provide financial independence, INR 5000

Empowering Youth & Women through Skill training The program is aimed to build various employable skills in the beneficiaries for the better quality of life. The beneficiaries in this project are women/ adolescent girls/youth from destitute families, who are trained in skills which provide them some standing in the society. This usually leads to some financial independence and in many cases, supporting their own families. The beneficiaries come from families whose earnings are Rs 3000-4000 per month, usually rickshaw pullers, petty shop owners and other daily wage earners. The Centre is situated at the Ghaziabad slum and manned by 3 instructors and an ayah. The beneficiaries are identified through surveys done in the community and also recommended by other beneficiaries. Their background is checked by the outreach workers, which include their family details, BPL status and other documents. These beneficiaries mostly come from the migrant and minority communities. The program is implemented with the help of 3-4 instructors/trainers who are from the community itself. The materials are also sourced from the community itself so that the ultimate benefits goes to the residents of the area/slum. From time to time they do the awareness in the community about the programs at the vocational Centre. There is one program manager who monitors the program and provides training in soft skills and organizes events for the beneficiaries and the instructor. She and the instructors do the survey and help them to come to the Centre. The beneficiaries are also taken to the exposure visits to give them the idea to how to take benefit from the skills that has been taught to them. The beneficiaries’ details are collected in number of ways. At the time of admission there are admission forms that the beneficiary has to fill up along with copy of identification like Aadhar card or parents BPL card etc. Then their daily attendance is marked in the attendance registers. These details are then entered in the computers to track the beneficiaries. The instructors also maintain their dairies which have their details.
