Distraught Wife and Mother
This is the story of Sharada who was referred to us by the management of the school in R T Nagar. She and her children were subjected to physical and mental abuse day in and day out at the hands of her husband who was the chronic alcoholic. They had a catering business and assets of their own, which they lost all due to his drinking habits. They distraught, she came to us with her daughters and they had no place to go. Overnight they seemed to have been reduced to a state of cenury.
We immediately provided them with shelter and looked up to their basic needs. Both the educational needs of her daughters were been taken care of by us. As she was a good cook, we managed to get her job in a couple of households close to our organization. After repeated counseling session her husband agreed to go for de-addiction.
Today she is employed as a head cook in a catering project. She and her daughters are now independently settled. They have moved out and are living in a rented place close to our organization.
