Enable life and work skills training for an intellectually challenged person for a month, INR 1350

Diya Foundation (DIYA) is a Vocational Training Centre cum Sheltered Workshop in Bangalore providing training and employment to differently abled individuals.

  How It Works

 • Beneficiaries are assessed when they come to Diya through word of mouth.
 • They are put on a trial where they are assessed in the different work units to guage their strengths, likes and dislikes.
 • Once assessed, they are then placed in a unit where they would achieve success, happiness and self esteem.
 • In order to teach trainees to stay on task, improve on quality and production output the NGO members need to invest in raw materials like diyas, paints, wax, chocolates, foil, fevicol, gum powder etc.
 • Trainees are then given 'hands-on' training and their base line for production output is checked.
 • Keeping in mind their challenges, limitations and strengths, their goals for daily production are set and then recorded.
 • Once targets are being achieved consistently, new targets are set and trainees are taken to greater heights.

 • 3 months – Duration of the trial period
