Overview
Adarsh is a rehabilitation centre for children with physical and mental disabilities.
How It Works
• All the children who come to the institute are accompanied by their parents. The presence of the parents depends on the training programmes.
• There are some children who are quite independent and who don’t require the assistance of their parents for their basic needs. These parents collaborate with the staff and work at the institute on a part-time basis.
• They are appointed on the basis of their qualifications.
• These parents help the teacher in the classroom.
• They are paid on a monthly basis, irrespective of whether donations are received or not.
Statistics
• 19 – Number of parents working as teacher assistants.
