Help create a safe place for children living at construction sites by sponsoring part of the monthly salary of the teacher or creche worker, INR 5000

The teachers at the MMC centres are unquestionably the most valuable asset on construction sites. They teach the children, cook their meals, feed the children, clean the centres, interact with parents and community members, and take on any other necessary tasks as they arise. Their incredible multi-tasking is what keeps the centres running smoothly, just as their dedication and enthusiasm are what allow the children to learn and engage with our programme.

All the teachers are trained to work as teachers either through the MMC comprehensive teacher training programme (Bal Palika) or through other reputable training programmes. Teachers work to implement every aspect of the programme; without them, the programme would cease to exist. By supporting the salaries of teachers, you are investing in the foundation of the MMC programme and reaching out to every need of the child on the site. Your aid will help the programme continue to run in an effective and sustainable manner.

An inspiration to her peers
Sunita (name changed to protect the identity of the individual) was in her tenth standard in school when she heard about an MMC daycare centre being opened in her locality. Once she completed Grade 10, she enrolled herself with the MMC teacher-training programme. She was the third generation of a family living inside the construction site. She, however, wanted more from life and played a major role in her family deciding to shift out of a site.
Sunita has set an example for many young girls who are eager to experience life outside the construction site. Through the training, she gained immense knowledge on child development and growth. The training also gave her the exposure to learn about the work of other organisations. After completing her training she began working at an MMC centre as a pre-school teacher.
Overcoming many challenges in her journey of six years with MMC, 25-year old Sunita has successfully displayed her potential in managing a class full of students, along with taking other responsibilities like handling the library programme in the different centres she was assigned to. After completing 6 years as a teacher at MMC, currently she is a junior trainer in the Bal Palika Teacher Training Course conducted by MMC.
