Sponsor the non formal centre expenses and educate a child in rural slums for a year, INR 4250

IDF works in the fields of education, health and hygiene and empowerment of women and children. It also strives to improve the awareness of these communities on health, education and human rights.

IDF runs an educational campaign "Nayi Disha- Mujhe Padhna Hai" in the slums and rural communities of Agra district. This program is the major focus area of the organization.

Under this campaign, IDF works in the area of primary education for such children. It has succeeded in reaching out to over a thousand children from urban and rural slums. Various activities are undertaken with a view to educating parents and their children in the age group 3-14 years in the importance of education. These activities include community mobilization, family counselling, creative classes for the kids, awareness workshops on different development issues, etc.

IDF operates a facility under the name,"Dreams Learning Centre" (DLC) in selected areas. The DLCs work towards enhancing overall development of the children and in making them ready for formal education. There is special focus on pre-primary kids (those below 6 years), school dropouts, and adolescent girls. In 2012-13 75 students were given non-formal education in the DLCs throughout the year.

The NGO started second learning center in November 2013. For the year 2014-15, they are expecting 100 children to be educated in the new centre. The admission process started in July for this session in 2014-15 and will continue till September. The NGO has 140 students enrolled till July 2014.

Hope for Life
Anjali, age 9, is an orphan living in an urban slum Nagla Mahadev of Agra District. She lost her parents when she was just 6 years old. She is living with her uncle. She did all household chores from morning to night. Her Aunt did not send her to school because she was conservative and reluctant towards educating Anjali. Her childhood was passing through the worst conditions without any ray of hope for a beautiful life.
Indian Dreams Foundation went into her slum. Our volunteers met and spoke with her uncle and aunt about the importance of education for Anjali and even for every child. We motivated them towards studies for Anjali and insisted them to send her to school. We also introduced them to Children Rights.
Anjali goes to the government school adopted by Indian Dreams Foundation. Anjali is one of the active and regular students. She is in grade 4. She learns Hindi, English, Maths, General knowledge, good habits, Art & Craft activities, dancing, singing, sports, etc. Anjali wants to become a teacher and teach kids like her.
