Create a safe, secure and nurtured environment for runaway and separated children within the child protection system, from the grassroots to national level, so that the child may develop holistically with self-confidence, self worth and dignity.
Mr.Promod Kulkarni was convinced of the efforts of SNDT Pune on the rehabilitation of Run away Children. He believes that A child on the platform never grows up he just ages. As the child stays in Platform gradually they will be motivated to platform life. Addictions, Sexual abuse, petty thefts and odd jobs become part of daily Survival. Sathi believes that There is no place like home for child.
Mr.Pramod Kulkarni is the founder and secretary of the organization. He completed his PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad and started working in the development sectors. In 1990 he saw more number of children taking shelter on the railway platforms and he thought of doing some good to these children. Thus he set-up Sathi and work began. He says: Children on the railway platforms just age, but never grow. Family is the best place for the child to grow.

Educated the father not to employ child
Beraram was found at the railway station of Bangalore City on 14th July, 2008 He came from Bilada Village, Rajasthan to work. The employer used to force him work though he did not wish to continue. So he ran away and We motivated the child that we will arrange travel facility for going home. The travel expenses was borne by employer - Rs. 4000. We provided food and shelter to the child for 8 days. As the child was employed, called the employer and asked him to pay compensation of Rs. 14000. We also called the father and motivated him not to employ the child. The counselor motivated that he should not come so far from their native place. You should explore work at your native place. But as the child was sharp in studies, the counselor motivated to continue school. After passing 10th std, you can opt any job. The child agreed and asked his father to admit in school and gave Rs. 14000 to them. The employer also agreed that hence forth he will never employ a child in his business. Right now the child is at home and working with his father and going to school in the evening. His parents are really happy and his parents will never send him to a big city to work as they have seen the child s condition in front of their eyes.
