Mission/Vision
Sustainable Holistic Development among the underserved.

Background
During 1986-87 the founder of the organization was a student in the Bharathiar University doing studies on Ethnic Tribes and their traditional practices. The needs of the under-served community and desire to support them as a part of the society was his reason for joining the voluntary sector.

Mr. A. S. Sankaranayaranan, Director of NMCT, formerly a Professor at an Ayurvedic college, met tribal people during his research in the forest area. He found that the Tribes were selling their lands for meager amounts and so he decided to dissuade them by making them economically viable. NMCT also felt the necessity for empowering women and run programmes on childcare, health and hygiene for the needy.

 A Helping Hand
Deepakumar, 13 year old is an orphan boy from an infected family. He lost his parents & sister to HIV/AIDS. His aged grand parents are taking care of him with the meager income they get by cattle rearing. The family is not in a position to provide nutritious food or take care of his medical expenses. The balanced food and immediate medical attention is very essential for an infected child. Deepakumar is supported by mobilization of donations for his education and nutrition food support and by linkages for treatment services. Deepakumar is being counseled for his ART treatment regularly and the grand parents are also counseled to provide care and nutritious food. Deepakumar is regularly getting his support for his education and nutritious food by our linkages. He is studying in the 9th grade and performing well in his education. He is improving in his health by regular ART and properly supported by his grand parents. His future depends on the support by philanthropists.
