 A childs yearning for home
Jagdish, now 13 years, ran away from home because of extreme poverty. Coming to the New Delhi Railway station the child started working at a Tea stall. Once he went for rag picking at the station where he was caught by police and sent to SBT shelter home. SBT provided the child nutrition, clean clothes, medical check up, Non formal education and counseling etc. services. He was staying nearly 3 months in the shelter home. Today Jagdish is restored back with his family. The court has fined the employer for child labor and the amount (Rs.90000) has been deposited into his account which he can withdraw when he becomes 18.
