 Meals on Time Initiative
Having lived in the streets, Mary Shanthini had suffered extreme deprivation and was in a poor physical condition when brought to The Banyan. She was recently diagnosed with tuberculosis and was also losing weight. A balanced diet high in nutrition is essential in combatting weight problems.Mary Shanthini has been given a high protein non-veg diet consisting of soups, fries, soya beans, and egg on a daily basis. We have also started giving treatment for tuberculosis. Thanks to a balanced diet and nutritional supplements, she has gradually started feeling better and is gaining weight. She has gained weight and is visibly looking better. She is also on her way to recovery from mental illness and will hopefully soon be able to lead a satisfying life as a productive member of the society.
