Educationally and Socio-economically sound rural communities.
 
Background
K N Deshmukh, founder and chairman of the organisation was inspired by Annasaheb Karve, pioneer of girls education in India. SSM was established to improve the lives of rural people by providing them with opportunities of education.
 
Keshavrao N Deshmukh, Founder Chairman of the organization was inspired by Maharshi Karve, pioneer of Girls Education in India. SSM was established in 1959 to improve the lives of rural people by providing them with equal opportunities of education. He says to keep working without expectations since it is better to light a lamp than to curse the darkness.
