Mission/Vision
Literacy India has clearly set the three E's as its goal on a process of achieving in next decade i.e., Education, Empowerment and Employment.
 
Background
We started in 1996 with 5 children at a construction site in Palam Vihar Gurgaon, today we have 100+ centres in an around Delhi, NCR across few states in India and have reached out to more than 500000 beneficiaries. Literacy India expanded its work on women empowerment by training over 20,000 women, 3000 children per annum.
 
Captain Indraani Singh, Managing Trustee and Founder is also a pilot, senior commander with Air India. She is the first Woman Commander on wide bodied aircraft AIRBUS - 300 in the world, also now moved on to A320 Airbus fleet of aircrafts and has logged more than 15000 hours of flying. She introduced digital learning module Gyantantra Digital Dost to reach more children, out of school, not upto academic level and quality learning outcome. Three E's has been evolved by LI under her guidance. For giving a platform to women's talent from the rural belt, she found INDHA under which all kinds of craft is being sold at many online portals

1 Capt. Indraani Singh Is currently working as a Pilot with the INDIAN AIRLINES, commanding the Airbus-380. She has the distinction of being Asia's first Woman Commander. She dedicates her time enthusiastically with these children hoping that they will one day chart their own course.
2 Anil Kalia  A hotelier by profession and known in the hotel industry as a very hard working and honest man. Being in the service industry he was able to take care of the Project of Vocational skill training of the Youth
3 Rajpal Singh Duggal  He is known in his circle as a financial wizard. His expertise has helped Literacy India in budgeting and structuring the various projects. He has an experienced background specially working with DCM Group, Raunaq Group and Apollo Tyres Ltd. He has vast experience in social work and has also closely worked with missionaries of charity
4 AM Denzil Keelor Chairman - He retired from the INDIAN AIR FORCE and has dedicated his life to various social causes. He has been in the past the President of YMCA.
