Kutumba was established in 1991 to shelter women, children and the disabled. By providing residential facilities to these individuals, Kutumba encourages them to interact with others. Kutumba also provides career guidance and counselling to youth.
Mary Paul initiated this in 1991 while working at Vathsalya charitable trust. The aim was to facility for homeless children who could not find a home through adoption. Over the years this has grown to providing a safe residential place to differently-abled girls who come to the city for vocational training. Later, the premises were used during the day to serve as a day care centre for children. According to Mary Paul we are called to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.
