Impacting Livelihoods to Enable Rural Communities
The inspiration to set up PRADAN was the view that capable and caring people rather than material resources are most critical for social development. PRADAN believes that well-educated and socially concerned people must work with village communities in the spirit of fraternity to hasten social development. PRADAN recruits such people from campuses and provides them year-long apprenticeship in its village projects to train and equip them with the right skills to be a development professional.
Narendranath Damodaran has taken over as the Executive Director of PRADAN since April 2017. Narendranath has been with PRADAN since 1989. He has served in many senior management positions, including leading the embedded cell with the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). He received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kerala University and a PGDRM from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA). He lives in New Delhi with his spouse and daughter.
