 Missionary Teenager : Kajal
Kajal is a promising girl & living in slum of Bawana Resettlement Colony in north-west part of Delhi with her family. Her father, Gopal Ghosh, is looking after the family & running a Paan shop & mother, Shikha Ghosh, is caring the family at home. She has 2 siblings and both are studying in Grade 12. She has always been interested in a lot of extra curricular activities like dance, theatre but never got opportunity to get trained. She is an average student and required help in reinforcing the concepts learnt at school. She was enrolled in the remedial education project when she was in Grade 4. Ever since then, she has been trained in various extra curricular activities as per her aptitude and also continuously trained to improve her scores. Realizing her leadership skills and orientation towards community work, she is being regular opportunities to volunteer and spread the cause of education in her own community for the last two years. She has been consistently maintaining a score of 60% in English and maths. For the last two academic years 2012-13 and 2013-14, she had completed a project of mainstreaming the out of school children into MCD Primary school along with her friends. She did door to door survey in adverse conditions of slum during the hot summers, but the passion was at the peak that she found the kids to mainstream.
