Regenerate the rhythm of life of the disadvantaged
Udayan Care was a deeply thought out process to convert a deep personal tragedy into a positive force. It is a response to the reality of many children who are orphaned, abused and sometimes thrown out of their homes by their family in different circumstances, finding themselves on the streets.
Dr. Kiran Modi completed her doctoral degree in 1988 from IIT, Delhi. She earned gold medals when she graduated in Arts in 1976 and again in 1983, when she completed her post graduation in English. Her interest in community work found fruition first in Neighbourhood Star, a community weekly for South Delhi, and later concertised in Udayan Care, which she founded along with her other Trustees on issues related to children, education and communities.

 Journey of Success
Somnath Udayan was reportedly abducted at the age of 7. Totally illiterate, completely devastated and traumatized, rescued by Police, he soon found a secure and stable home with us in Mayur Vihar Udayan Ghar. His personality unfolded with the mentors unconditional love and opportunities provided. With intervention from our pschologists and counsellors, and due to our strategy of LIFE: Living In Family Environment, he quickly recovered. He received personal care from mentor mothers and staff. A cricket aficionado, a student of Universal Public School, Somnath has secured 81% marks in the class X Boards. His strong conviction and motivation to achieve success, his sense of responsibility and discipline, his will to overcome traumas and all the odds, makes us really proud!! Now he wants to pursue engineering and has already enrolled himself in a coaching institute. We wish him all the luck in his life!
 Raja’s story
Alka remembers seeing her mother, a part-time domestic help, trying her level best to make the ends meet & provide her three little children with adequate meals. Her father, a driver had unfortunately died in an accident. Alka was brought into Ghaziabad Udayan Ghar and provided care under the supervision of the Mentor Mother there. Since she didn’t have a formal education background, Alka was initially home tutored for 9 months. Once the base was built up with the help of tutors & mentor, she was enrolled in a good English medium school in the academic session 2011-12 Alka, a student of Grade 2 at Deep Memorial Public School, has stood 1st in her school in the International Maths Olympiad (2011). Her overall City rank in Delhi is 196, which too is great as lakhs of students appear in such Olympiads. Alka is not only great in academics but also in all the extra-curricular activities. In fact her school has been quite vocal in expressing their appreciation regarding the same With such a strong desire to excel, the Udayan family is sure that Alka will be able to become a Doctor which she aspires to be!
