Mrs. P.N. Kavoori, is founder member of Disha Foundation & provides Special Education at centre for challenged children. After her retirement from Sawai Man Singh School (the first co-education school of Jaipur) as a Principal in 1995, she along with the Khaitan family established Disha Foundation.  Nandini – An Inspiration
Nandini came to DISHA at the age of six. She was suffering from neural tube defect which impacts her physical ability & her cognitive functions. Her parents are too poor and uneducated. In Disha she was given extensive Physiotherapy, Aquatic Therapy, Equine Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration sessions & regular academic remediation by trained special educators last three years. This turned her into a very active and intelligent girl who is now sitting in her wheel chair with a straight back and neck. She is doing very well in her academics, currently student of class VI from NIOS. She is also showing her talent in drawing and painting, in poetry, in debate, in theatre. She plays the lead role in majority of skits and dramas. Nandini is one of the brightest students of DISHA, who utilized the opportunity that was given at the right time and in the right direction.
 Ambika - The Fighter
Ambika Singh came to Disha in September 2009. He was diagnosed as Cerebral Palsy with Spastic Dipelgic due to which he had difficulty in sitting, transferring from one position to another. His spasticity was so severe that every time he used to stand, his legs used to cross each other, making it impossible for him to weight bear on both the lower limbs. Ambika underwent vigorous physiotherapy treatment from the time of his admission in Disha in the form of stretching, balance and coordination exercises, Aquatic therapy and Equino therapy. He also underwent facilitation techniques for movement control and gait training. Even had to undergo surgery to correct his deformities, but in vain, as the spasticity recurred the deformities. At present, due to continuous physiotherapy, he is now able to walk with forward support at home as well as outdoor. He even goes out to park with walker in the evening. He performs his few activities independently. He still shows spasticity to some extent but can control the movement for his basic needs.
