An underprivileged child getting educated
Four year old Abhishek Vardhan hails from a poor family in Kadapa. When his family realized that their 11 month child was hearing impaired, they consulted all kinds of religious babas, since they couldn’t afford hearing aids. But alas, nothing worked. With their friends’ support, the family was finally able to procure a hearing aid, but they were still clueless about providing Abhishek with the education he needed.
They later learnt about Ashray Akruti through one of their friends. At Ashray Akruti, he was admitted into the fast track class where he was helped with special education at an accelerated pace. He is now being helped with auditory training, special therapy and academic training by a special educator and a speech therapist.
Abhishek’s listening skills have improved, and he is now able to lip read and comprehend words and simple sentences. He is now able to read letters and words, and is able to communicate in words and phrases. His parents are very happy to see their child’s improvement and hope that he has a bright future ahead of him.
