Another Life for Gyanda
Ms. Gyanda Ganodkar is using transport service to commute to Kiran Village for the last ten years. She is a student with Cerebral Palsy. She has very severe spasticity at major joints of limbs and very heavy weight. It is very difficult to transfer her from one place to other. Nowadays, her bilateral hands are not working. She is fully dependent on her parents and caretakers, but due to ramp facility in our bus, she can use it with wheelchair.
She is staying with her parents in Varanasi city. She is using wheelchair for mobility purpose. She completed up to class 8 through regular schooling at our integrated school and also completed her intermediate education through National Institute of Open School (NIOS).
KIRAN is providing free school transport facility to all children. During our 25 years of service, thousands of children have utilised our transport services. But many more are not able to use this facility due to financial constraints. Last year, Gyanda completed her Masters in Social Work (MSW) through IGNOU. Gyanda got good marks in her final examination. All these accomplishments were reached with the help of proper transport facility. Otherwise, it would have been impossible to achieve this great success. She is an active member of a parents association at Varanasi. Her parents are happy with her performance.
